Pioneer Iron & Steel Corporation Private Limited was setup in 1960 mainly for manufacturing railway sleepers and railway water columns and other heavy industrial fabrications.
In 1973, the company became the pioneer in India to do single piece castings of up to 25 Metric Tons. There was no company in India in the private sector, which could do such heavy castings. This gave the company a competitive edge over other competitors and profits began to grow exponentially.
The existing activities of the company of manufacturing railway sleepers and railway water columns were supported by the additional activities of manufacturing Cast Iron (C.I.) products like Ingot Moulds, Bottom Plates, Slag Pots, etc. Their dedication towards the business and the quality of the products paid them rich dividends and their product was accepted not only by the Mini Steel Plants throughout India but also in Steel Plants like Steel Authority of India (SAIL - Durgapur Steel Plant, Rourkela Steel Plant, Bokaro Steel Plant), Kalyani Steel, Field Gun Factory of Ichhapur, Katani, and Kanpur (Government Ordnance Factories).
In 2001, Pioneer Iron and Steel Corporation bought some machines from Vermeer Corporation, USA and diversified into a new Cable Laying work with the latest No-Dig method with the help of Trench less Technology. The company has acquired projects from Reliance Infocom for the laying of PVC pipes which will be later used for the fiber optic networks in the close future. The company has also done jobwork for BSNL, DOT, MTNL, GAIL and other private cellular companies (Airtel), etc
In 2003, the company has setup a non-ferrous foundry with the latest technology and conforming to International standards and specifications for manufacturing copper alloy ingots and castings. The company has a well equipped laboratory for testing chemical composition and physical properties. |
